But the beef of this post is more about comics than anything else. Since San Diego's Comic Con went/is going down, there's been a lot of news in the comic world, and seeing as how we here at Yancha Digs are down with comics, we feel the need to tell the world and spread good comics. But anyways, apparently, Vertigo has announced that Neil Gaiman will write a prequel to his absolutely classic (and one of my personal favorites) The Sandman.
To be honest, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Of course before I judge whether or not it's a good idea, I have to read the completed story, but I can say that the original created such a high standard that it will be difficult to top what's already been written. On top of that, since it's not written in the article, but it seems that Dave McKean has not signed on to the covers. In any case, people who don't know about Sandman, should definitely check it out. 皆お疲れ！今日の休日楽しめたかな？！今日はユーキ君とスケートスポット巡りに行ってきて仙台スケーターがあまり滑ってないスポットが見つかったので今度スケートしに行って、いい撮影撮れるぜ！しかも梅雨なのに今週の天気予報がずっと晴れだから超楽しみだー！
でも実は今日のニュースはスケボーよりマンガのだ。アメリカのサンディエゴ市では先週超有名な漫画コンベンションがあって、いろんなニュースが発表された。俺の一番気になるのはサンドマンというアメリカの最高傑作コミックの話がもっと細かくなる。サンドマンの話は説明しにくいけど簡単にいうと、主人公が人ではなく神でもなくドリームという夢の化身で、夢の世界でいろんな夢を見てる人と出会ったり影響与えたりする話なんだ。英語にしてもめっちゃ説明しにくいから読んでみたほうごいい。ヤンチャディグスのマンガおすすめ！しかも背景は夢の世界なのでアートも結構面白くてアーティスティックなんだ。
とにかく、この話の前編が書かれる予定があるらしい。ニュー・ヨーク・タイムズというアメリカの新聞のベストセラーの１位に達したサンドマンが日本では人気ないので日本に紹介しようと思った。しかもアメリカのコミック界ではこれがかなりビッグニュースなんだ。
